Online Course, 4 CPD hours
Thu 25 Jun 2026

Building practical confidence in mainstreaming Lynch Syndrome Testing within your service

Attendees joined Sam Seker, Colorectal Clinical Nurse Specialist and Lynch Syndrome Champion, for this interactive online workshop. Designed for colorectal clinical nurse specialists, nurses, bowel screening practitioners, and junior doctors, this introductory session helped build on practical confidence in screening, genetics, and patient-centred care. The attendees had the opportunity to connect with NHS peers, gain expert guidance, and learn through case study–based discussions how to support the mainstreaming of Lynch Syndrome testing.

Mainstreaming Lynch testing

Useful techniques and practical approaches

This course was expertly designed to build your confidence and leave attendees with actionable insights on how to mainstream Lynch Syndrome testing. Key focusses included:

  • An overview of Lynch Syndrome: associated MMR genes and the underlying genetic and genomic drivers
  • Improving long-term outcomes via the Lynch Syndrome register: earlier cancer detection and enabling testing for at-risk family members
  • Understanding the CNS role in mainstreaming Lynch Syndrome testing: eligibility, consent and screening
  • Exploring testing pathways: genomics impact on diagnosis, treatment and follow-up
  • Building confidence in sensitive conversations with patients and families about testing
  • Strengthening onward referral and signposting to clinical genetics and specialist services
  • Developing an action plan to embed testing and interpretation into daily practice

Convenient remote learning

4 CPD hours building practical confidence
