Improving survivorship support through practical, implementable strategies

This case-study driven workshop was designed for Clinical Nurse Specialists, Allied Health Professionals and wider oncology teams involved in supporting people living beyond cancer. Attendees joined to strengthen confidence in managing the long-term physical and psychological effects of cancer treatment, explored workable strategies that can be implemented immediately within clinical practice, and learnt how to better support patients through effective communication, self-management approaches and signposting to appropriate services and resources.

Enhancing support beyond cancer

This dedicated online workshop provided practical insight, real-world examples and actionable strategies to help healthcare professionals better support people affected by the long-term consequences of cancer and its treatment through:

Improving assessment and management of fatigue, neuropathy and other ongoing treatment effects
Strengthening conversations around sexual dysfunction, psychological impact and emotional wellbeing
Developing actionable approaches to self-management support and patient education
Enhancing signposting to wellbeing services, community support and specialist resources
Embedding realistic, patient-centred approaches into day-to-day clinical practice

This dedicate one day workshop left the participants with pragmatic strategies and actionable approaches to better support people living beyond cancer, including:

Practical approaches to managing fatigue, neuropathy and other long-term treatment effects
Greater confidence in discussing sexual dysfunction, emotional wellbeing and psychological impact
